Clear. With the eyes. With the hearts.

Dear confirmands,

On behalf of the municipal council, we sincerely congratulate you on your confirmation. Today you have yes to your faith – and you may at the same time hear:

God says yes to you, to your life, your questions, your ways and your hopes.

For you, Amalia, Amelie, Daniel, David, Howard, Jonathan, Max, Nicolaus, Philipp and Smilla, we have formulated a special saying that unites you as a confirmation group and perhaps beyond the day of today's confirmation:

All eyes see through darkness, help each time to make new perspectives visible.

This sentence is formed from the first letters (in German) of your first names and reminds you: Even if ways are sometimes unclear, if questions remain open or darkness obscures the view, God's light can give a new view. It helps us to see people and situations with different eyes – more hopeful, more courageous and loving.

We wish you to discover new perspectives again and again on your life's journey: in faith, in community, in your families and friendships, and in the community. Be it here in Singapore or elsewhere in this world. May God accompany, strengthen and bless you – today and on all the days that lie ahead.
