Last week we had a wonderful children's service where we talked about the story "I am the door".
The words of Jesus "I am the door" come from the Gospel of John (John 10:9). Jesus uses an image here that children can understand well.
Imagine a shepherd taking care of his sheep. The sheep are safe in the stable, and the shepherd is the door. This means that no one can enter the barn without passing the shepherd. The shepherd protects the sheep from dangers and leads them to good pastures.
When Jesus says, "I am the door," he means that he is the way to God. Through him we can come to God and experience His love and protection. It is like the door that shows us the way to a safe and happy life.
We had a creative craft session where each child designed their own "door" to remember that Jesus always looks after us. 🖌️✂️
It was a joyful and educational afternoon, and we are already looking forward to the next children's service!
